During our landscaping years we have been asked to enhance many properties by improving the gardens. The reasons for these improvements have been varied; some clients want a quick garden makeover to make the property more saleable, while others want to stamp their personality on their home. Some will want to spend their time caring for the plants while others want an outside room where they can relax, while yet others just want a pleasant low maintenance surround to their house. Whatever the reason, our clients agree that the finished article exceeds their initial vision. Showcased below are some case studies showing examples of our previous garden projects & individual garden makeover with many before and after photos. |
Chinese Garden

Daphnie had a piece of waste ground

that hade been used as a vegetable plot by the previous owners and since left abandoned

She wanted a garden where she could get away from it all

I suggested a Chinese Garden using Feng Sui principles

We built a garden where she can now go for her moments of contemplation or just a quiet read

Because of her small son we felt it prudent not to have water of any depth

so the river of blue/green chippings winds out of the hills, through the garden

A solar powered Dinasaur Egg water feature gives the sound of running water

The dragons head carving on the gazebo

A low maintenance quiet little haven; Daphnies Delight!
Two Tier Lawn with Dwarf Wall

The Andersons had aquired land at the back of their garden

First we had to clear the ground

cut down trees, take down walls etc.

and open up the back

We shaped the existing lawn

Edge it with pavers and walling

We tiered the walls

Levelled the new rear tier

then we turfed the back

Edge it with pavers and chippings

We paved in front of the greenhouse

and cemented the chippings between the slabs
Stream & Waterfall with Natural Stone

Dave had a bit of his garden

that was hard to maintain

because of the slope

the mower would slip

down the bank

The job was started in November

We built a stream lined with natural stone

We built gravel paths edged with rocks

We built a pergola walk entrance

Planted over 1,000 bulbs

Rustic arbour under the trees

Rustic arch entrance to the pond and bog garden

Bridges over the stream

Steps and Waterfalls

Tree Seats

Bark was laid and plants installed

The pergola and rose arch were planted with climbers to hide

the large pond at the bottom of the stream to feed it

The water in the pond was pumped to the top of the stream

It casscades down over the rocks back to the pond

We installed lights including spots

A hedge was planted to hide the secret garden from the house
Raised Beds using Marshall's Saxon Slabs with matching Croft Walling

Jean had a lot of lawn

which she found hard to mow

and pretty bland to look at

She wanted a garden to potter in

with flower beds she could reach

and could maintain easily

She likes flowers

but was unable to tend them

Raised beds and more...

Raised beds were installed

A new rear fence

The shed was hidden

All walls were built to be sat on

except those around the trees

The central patio areas

Although it winds

the path actually follows a straight line

along the clothes line

A large patio area close to the house

like a Catherine wheel

with cascades of colour

surrounding

the centre

evergreen

low maintenance plants

in the ground level

The raised beds planted

with ones that needed more care

The gnomes were added by the customer

The front was next

The lawn was removed

A circular planting area was created

in front of the windows,

covered in decorative aggregates

stone wood sleepers

and plants installed

in the corner planters as well

the shape of the sleepers was reflected in the drive

The Drive

was made of clay pavers

The colour of clay pavers

don't fade like concrete ones

The aggregates look better after a shower
Fish Pond with Bridges & Decks

Steve likes fish

He wanted his garden turned

into something that he could keep them in

We installed ponds with

Bridges and Decks over

A deck where the garden sloped off

Waterfall and stainless steel pyramid feeds the pond; we planted around it

and Steve installed his fish and we trained spot lights on the pyramid
